• Responsibilities: Master plan and overall layout. Conversion of designs for lightweight steel and cladding design. Definition, detailing and elaboration of typologies. Design and production of drawings for council approval.

• Project Description: Faja de Baixo Apartments, Ponta Delgada- 24 Apartments in two typologies.

• Responsibilities: Design drawings and documentation for the council approval of 24 two and three bedroom apartments.

• Responsibilities: Design and production of drawings and documents for Council approval. This was the second phase in the Faja de Baixo Urban master plan and land sub-division.

• Project Description:  Mediation and community involvement in resolving issues between hawkers and shop owners about street trading on the pavements. This process resulted in the formalized hawker stalls in steel and canvas structures, benches, bollards, sculptures, Public Lighting and landscaping and formalization of hawkers in the Johannesburg CBD.

• Project Description:  Public mediation and community participation for the structuring and formalisation for the City Council. This complex process resulted in Steel Structures for the traders and lease agreements for the city council.

• Project description: This informal yet historical market occupied council land. This required the formalisation and organization of Herbal Healers and informal traders for the Johannesburg City Council. The outcome was consultation rooms for the witchdoctor’s, and lockable storage for their natural remedies for which they would pay city council a rental.

My final thesis was about Urban housing and revitalization, in the context of a post apartheid Johannesburg. On a broader level it looked at the Urban redevelopment policies, access to housing for the new South African context and the reality facing the new ANC government. On another level I tried to look at the possibilities of mixed use residential buildings in the city, with all the problems and benefits of urban dwelling. The project proposed small service industry warehouses and workshops with a school above and community center above, with housing above the school.

DJ 46 ZhuJiang Industrial Park

Project Description:  Our team was invited to step into an urban design program and design bits and pieces. The design here was more at an urban design level, setting the development parameters to achieve a evenly high density development.

DJ 45 Ningbo New City Center

Project Description:  Ningbo city required a new city development but the old city was surrounded by fairly complex transport infrastructures making it difficult to extend in this direction. The key to the design was seen to be a bridge building over an 8 lane highway that would link the new development to the old city center.
