DJ 45 Ningbo New City Center

Project Description:  Ningbo city required a new city development but the old city was surrounded by fairly complex transport infrastructures making it difficult to extend in this direction. The key to the design was seen to be a bridge building over an 8 lane highway that would link the new development to the old city center.

Our urban solution envisioned a massive star shaped connector cultural building that could be a bridge for the future connection of this fragmented land. The project did not develop beyond the sketch design.

The urban design ideas for this complex project did not advance very far and shortly afterwards was stopped by the client. The urban design team of landscapers and a townplaner were supported by two architects.
